Banstead Woods and Chipstead Downs Local Nature Reserve is an amazing place to walk and is approximately 30 minutes drive from Tooting.
Banstead Woods and Chipstead Downs is a beautiful place to explore with your dog, with free parking and both sprawling fields and woodlands galore to roam through, it is a very special place to visit.
Every good walking destination benefits from a cosy dog friendly pub and Banstead Woods does not disappoint. The Rambers Rest is a lovely, country pub with log fire and both indoor and outdoor dog friendly areas to relax. Their menu is fantastic, offering a delicious Sunday roast, kids menu, plenty of vegan options and delicious deserts. I love nothing better than parking at the Holly Lane car park, walking through the fields down to the pub for a little overindulgence before a long walk up through fields with great views over Chipstead then through the woods back to the car park. You can comfortably walk for a good couple of hours here or choose the shorter circuit and have a 45 minute to an hour stroll.
Banstead woods also has a fun Narnia Trail so look out for Aslan, Lucy, the snow Queen and of course the wardrobe on your travels. Being a woodlands there are tons of logs and teepees for dogs, children and adults to explore!
